The Bluewater Cookbook!
Take home Bluewater Grill's Flavors From the Shore with coastal favorites, stories, and 100 recipes inspired by the waters that shaped Bluewater Grill.
For Bluewater Grill co-founders Jimmy Ulcickas and Richard Staunton, the release of their first cookbook is personal.
“We’ve been fortunate to be able to share our love for fish and the sea with our Bluewater Grill customers for 30 years – so this book is our thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey,” said Ulcickas.
Flavors from the Shore: Nostalgic Seafood Recipes from Our Coasts & Waterways (Skyhorse Publishing with distribution by Sumon & Shuster) is every fish lovers’ passport to classic and new recipes inspired by the owners’ own travels, passion for the ocean and three decades growing Bluewater Grill into the leading family of sustainable seafood restaurants in the West.
Available April 28 on Amazon, at major bookstores and Bluewater Grill restaurants, the 352-page book features family-friendly dishes showcasing the freshest fish from the most beautiful coasts and waterways in the U.S. – and beyond. Full-page color photos offer readers a coast-to-coast tour of the founders’ most beloved chef-driven seafood and shellfish creations.
The book’s 100 recipes are arranged geographically – from Blackened Pacific Swordfish and California Spiny Lobster “Puerto Nuevo Style” in the California Shores chapter to Roasted Oysters and Orange and Walnut-Crusted Halibut for the Pacific Northwest and Trout Amandine and Lake Superior Whitefish for Midwest Lakes and Riverbanks.
Readers can also visit the Atlantic & Mid-Atlantic Seaboard for Maryland-Style Crab Cakes and Maine and Connecticut Style Lobster Rolls and tour the Southern Waterfront and the Gulf to sample spicy oyster, shrimp, and blackened fish dishes.
From there, Flavors from the Shore takes seafood lovers around the world with classics like Garlic Butter Australian Tiger Prawns, Ponzu Ahi Tuna Poke, and Grilled Hawaiian Ono (Australia, Oceania & The Hawaiian Archipelago) and Spanish Octopus and Zuppa di Pesce (Faraway Coastlines).
“Nothing brings family and friends together like a home-cooked meal enjoyed beachside, dockside, or shoreside,” said Ulcickas. “Whether it is a weekend, a holiday, or an everyday gathering with those we love, when fresh, locally caught seafood makes its way to the table, the result is a celebration of shared memories and bountiful food.”
“One of our goals with Flavors from the Shore was to introduce fish lovers to the extraordinary seafood and shellfish tradition across the country and around the world – just like we’ve tried to do at Bluewater Grill since our first day in 1996.”
“It’s all about making new seafood fans.”
